Premia Capital Management, LLC (“Premia Capital”) is an Illinois Limited Liability Company organized in September 1998.
Premia
Capital is a proprietary investment and research firm.
The
firm employs statistical techniques in the derivatives markets. The company’s
primary focus is on the natural-resources futures markets; risk management
is a key part of the firm’s investment process.
The
firm’s investment program is solely traded with principal-only
capital.
In
addition, Premia Capital’s principals create and sponsor research on
leading-edge financial topics.
The
firm is a corporate (donor) member of the Center for International Securities and Derivatives Markets; and has established a fellowship at the London School
of Economics.
The
firm’s principals are Hilary Till and Joseph Eagleeye. Katherine Farren
is an associate of the firm.
On
behalf of the EDHEC Risk and Asset Management Research Centre, Hilary Till
has carried out research on a number of commodity-related topics. Articles
resulting from this research have been cited by the Hedge Fund Journal,
the European Central Bank, the Banque de France, the Bank for International
Settlements, the International Monetary Fund, the Bank of Japan, and by the
United States Senate’s Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations.
Hilary Till is co-founder and principal of Premia Capital. She is also the co-editor of the 2007 Risk Book, Intelligent Commodity Investing.
In addition, Ms. Till is a principal of Premia Risk Consultancy, Inc., which provides advice on complex financial topics to institutional investment firms. She serves on the North American advisory board of the London School of Economics; is an advisory board member of the Tellus Natural Resources Fund, a fund of hedge funds; is a strategic advisor for Prism Analytics, a developer of advanced statistical methods; and is a research associate at the EDHEC Risk and Asset Management Research Centre.
Ms. Till is a member of the Curriculum and Examination Committee of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Association; and has served as a reviewer for the Financial Analysts Journal and the Journal of Alternative Investments.
Before co-founding Premia Capital, Ms. Till was Chief of Derivatives Strategies at Putnam Investments and prior to this position was a quantitative analyst at Harvard Management Company. She has a B.A. with general honors in statistics from the University of Chicago and an M.Sc. in statistics from the London School of Economics (LSE). She studied at the LSE under a private fellowship administered by the Fulbright Commission.
Joseph Eagleeye is co-founder and principal of Premia Capital. He is also the co-editor of the 2007 Risk Book, Intelligent Commodity Investing.
Before co-founding Premia Capital, Mr. Eagleeye was a senior derivatives strategist at Putnam Investments. While at Putnam, Mr. Eagleeye researched, back-tested and implemented systematic, relative-value derivatives strategies, which spanned the bond and commodity markets, as well as co-managing Putnam’s institutional commodity program.
Prior to joining Putnam Investments, Mr. Eagleeye developed trading applications for Morgan Stanley’s Equity Division, and proprietary computer models for an urban economics consulting firm.
In addition, he has advised investment firms on hedging strategies, benchmark construction, index replication strategies, portfolio construction, performance attribution, and risk management.
He has co-authored chapters for the following edited books: The New Generation of Risk Management in Hedge Funds and Private Equity Investments (Euromoney, 2003), Commodity Trading Advisors: Risk, Performance Analysis, and Selection (Wiley, 2004), Hedge Funds: Insights in Performance Measurement, Risk Analysis, and Portfolio Allocation (Wiley, 2005), and The Handbook of Inflation Hedging Investments (McGraw Hill, 2006).
Mr. Eagleeye holds a B.S. in Applied Mathematics from Yale University and an M.B.A from the University of California at Berkeley.
Katherine Farren, CAIA, is an associate of Premia Capital. She is responsible for the operational aspects of Premia Capital’s activities.
Ms. Farren is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst; and is also an associate of Premia Risk Consultancy, Inc.
Prior to joining Premia Capital, Ms. Farren was completing her M.B.A. degree from Suffolk University in Boston, MA. Previously, Ms. Farren was employed by Putnam Investments where she was responsible for implementing trades in the global futures markets for the firm’s Derivatives Trading Group.
In addition to holding an M.B.A., Ms. Farren has a B.A. from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire.
